The fast-food chain Wendy’s says it will shutter a “mid-single-digit percentage” of its nearly 6,000 U.S. restaurants because of declining traffic and sales, confirming the move on an earnings call where the interim CEO noted they are working with franchisees to evaluate underperforming locations and how to improve both customer experience and financials.
