The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has forecasted a 1.9% rise in overall food prices for 2025, continuing a trend of increasing costs for consumers. The agency’s Food Price Outlook, released on Jan. 8, projects food-at-home prices to rise by 0.8% and food-away-from-home prices by 3.5%. This marks a slower pace of growth compared to recent years, following increases of 3.9% in 2021, 9.9% in 2022, and 5.8% in 2023.
